The January Skirt is a feminine, flowy and flirty (the very very important 3Fs) tiered maxi skirt. This piece is intended to fit snugly around the waist and have a ton of ease around the hips thanks to the gathers. Speaking of which, there are three tiers, giving you lots of volume to twirl around in!

The size ranges from 0 to a 40 which covers a WAIST measurement of 23” - 53” (58cm - 135cm).

There are two versions to the skirt, a low waist and a high waist to fit your style!!

This is an adventurous beginner sewing pattern with in-depth illustrated written instructions as well an accompanying YouTube tutorial.

It is a serger free pattern. Through this pattern, you will learn how to insert an invisible zipper, make and sew bias binding, create and sew in gathers, attach a waistband and finish your seams 5 different ways. If this is one of your first patterns, I still recommend you give it a try as it covers lots of useful sewing techniques :)

The January Skirt sewing pattern comes in a Print at home file (A4 & Letter size), a projector file and a A0 file (large format/copy shop).

Fabrics:

Depending on the weight of the fabric, it can be made for the warmer seasons (cottons, linens, and other similar lightweight fabrics) but can also be made from thicker fabrics such as tartans (my favorite!!) I wouldn’t recommend anything too heavy weight as it won’t twirl very well and it is trickier to gather.
